SchooMax Enterprise Parent & Student Portal

The Franklin Regional School District has migrated its student information system to a new Web based software platform this summer called SchoolMax Enterprise or SME for short. The implementation includes modules for Census, Student and Parent Demographics, Scheduling, Gradebook, Report Cards and Transcripts. The parent and student portal will allow you to view attendance and student academic work. Additional information and login instructions will be provided through the respective building Open Houses.

A couple of changes have been made to the parent and student portal that will hopefully provide a clearer picture of academic progress:

Ø      Under the Gradebook Tab, the Grades link next to each course will now only display the current marking period average instead of the confusing term and marking period averages. The developers are working to resolve the proper display of the term grade. Until then, the current marking period average will be displayed.

Ø      Remember that you can click on the Assignments link next to each course to view a detail of all assignments to date or just the selected marking period.

Ø      The Grades Tab has been activated for the Middle and Senior High School portal respectively to display the end of marking period grades as they are published. This would be similar to the grades reported in the printed report card, except that updates are accessible from your account instead of waiting for the next printed report card. Elementary report cards are not available electronically at this time so the Grades Tab will not display a report card for K-5 students.

Important clarification concerning the student login accounts recently sent home:
the paper incorrectly stated that parents could change the account password after they logged in. This is not the case. There is no way for the parent to change the assigned password. Please note that there is no security concern since there is no private information accessible from the login.
